Changing rear springs

Drivers side at the rear is sagging a little so time for new springs.

I've read through the suspension manual on the site but I was wondering if anyone has done the job and confirm it's as easy as it looks?

Can you get away without having to disconnect the rear drive shafts?

Saloons are easy, just undo the shock and compress the springs and it will drop out, estates are harder as i believe the shock runs through the middle of the spring

Matt. You are correct in relation to the estate rear shocks. Because they are self levelling they are much larger in diameter and will not come out without dropping the suspension. IF they are replaced by Sierra shocks any future removal is easy as they are slimmer and will come out as the saloon ones do. See Stuart (Highlanders) posts in How to do Things.  Smiley

Cool - thanks Matt - I thought the Ford instructions looked a bit "over the top".

Re Saloon rear springs - can anyone confirm if the 92-94 Scorpio saloon springs will fit in the 95-98 scorpio saloon. The springs and shocks certainly look similar on the rear.

Not yet.  I'm acquiring funds for a full front and rear shock absorber set with H&R -30mm lowering springs - probably do it in the summer.
