hi everyone, hope someone can help. were having trouble starting our 2.3 estate after it has been stood (inside) for a year. the engine turns over, there is a spark at the plugs, but it wont fire up. there is petrol in the tank, but it dosnt seem to be reaching the engine. to check if 12v is reaching the fuel pump does anyone know which wires of the 8 that go through the floor above the tank feed the pump? or is there a wiring diagram on this site somewhere? thanks diane

Been stood for a year eh. Well, methinks she has got lazy : Electrics got a bit sticky . If you can give the top of the fuel Pump a bit of a sharp tap, that might work, also shake the car from side to side and up and down. Move the fuses and relays in the Fuse Boxes by hand. Turn the Ignition key on and off several times, then switch the Ignition on and you should hear the fuel pump clicking. If everything was working the last time you ran the engine then there should be no reason for her to not fire up - thingies don't just break for not reason. That being said we are talking about Scorpios. Do the other Electrics all work? Mike

UPDATE> the wires feeding the fuel pump, which are in a loom that goes through the floor above the tank, are violet/orange with a white marker(pos) and the thickest black wire(neg). 12volts were reaching this point, so took the tank off and tested the pump and it is dead. so what i need now is the pump/float level assembly that fits in the tank. anyone have one to sell, or knows who would have a second hand one? thanks diane
