Fob batteries

Hi all The fob for my scorpio dosnt work so i think i need new batteries but when we tried to program it to the car you have to turn the ignition on and off 3/4 times then press open and you should hear a beep, when i do this it beep's so does that mean my battries work but my fob is broken? Thanks

I would try some new batteries for starters, cheap as chips on fleabay. I have a spare fob if you need one.

you turn the ignition key 3/4 times, the car should ding (which it what your hearing, then you press the open key. the car should ding again to say the fob has been programmed then then you turn the ignition off again from memory it will ding again to say programming mode disabled

i am hearing those bongs so dos that mean the batteries are working? would it beep if they wernt? not a major problem really because i can just use the key but it would be nice to have working.
