Hi I just heard that our wonderful government are going to turn off FM radio so does anyone know if there is a digital radio that will work with all the functions in the scorpio? Also will we need to rewire the loom or aerials?

I think you will find that the date for the fm turn off has been put back, not sure to what though. I had the blaupunkt dab 53 in the scorp until I moved the sony system out of the Granada into the scorp, sony has a dab unit in boot. Around cornwall dab is hit and miss, everywhere, need a good aerial. You would need a dab aerial as well as the roof one, or get one that will pickup dab and fm. The wiring loom has the plugs that fit most radios but you will need something so you can use the control on the steering wheel.

Just install a DAB fm transmitter then you can listen to DAB radio on your Scorpio FM Stereo - something like this:-

There are ones that integrate with the display via RDS & use the cars remote. It would appear on some cars you could change channels that way but I suspect with the Scorpio you’d have to use the supplied handheld remote for channel changing.

Thanks wish the government would leave things alone when they are already working well.

An indication of the changeover date is expected to be given at the "Go Digital Conference" on 16th Dec. Favoured date at the moment seems to be 2018.
