I am looking to create a lsd for a scorpio. I know they dont come with one as standard but does anybody know what diff i could use to make one, and how easy would it be to change the internals of an lsd diff to a standard diff casing. thanks in advance

Does your Scorpio have Traction Control ? If it does then I think an LSD would not serve much purpose. I think the LSD option was dropped when Traction Control became an option. Earlier MK3 Granada was optionally available with LSD but this is apparently very rare but the complete diff should be a straight swap - may have to change over the rear cover depending on the mounting type. Sierra LSD ( 4x4 & Cosworth ) may also fit as I think the casing is the same - came as 3.62 or 3.92 ratio I believe.

4x4 diffs do not fit as they are only 7" as opposed to 7.5".................... What you need is Sierra or Granada 2wd Cosworth diff, has LSD as standard and is 7.5" HTH Dave

| LSD's are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the traction control system the Scorpio has (which can be turned off in any case). on Dec 21st, 2013, 7:47am, Dave2302 wrote:4x4 diffs do not fit as they are only 7" as opposed to 7.5".................... HTH Dave |
| You can fit 7" diffs into a 7.5" space, just use some spacers - see below:-

I know it can be done But why mess around to reduce to a 7" weaker diff that will almost certainly have the wrong size flanges ?? The right size stronger diffs are out there, some with the correct size flanges already on them !! Cheers Dave

just use a Granada 4x4 diff .as long as yours is not 24 v or diesel with the larger flanges .but they can be changed you mite also have to change the backplate if yours is a later scorpio with a koala rear mount that's the reson you cant fit a 7 " diff to later scorpios unless you change the body mount as well can be done but as dave said you end up with all the inferior bits.all the info is at www.super7thheaven.co.uk/sierra rear differential on Dec 21st, 2013, 7:47am, Dave2302 wrote:4x4 diffs do not fit as they are only 7" as opposed to 7.5"....................
