I have 95 Scorpio 24v that i need to replace the rear calipers since the handbrake mechanism wont free up after every trick in the book has been thrown at them... I have been offered good working set from a 1992 Sierra Cosworth with vented disc that looks very similar too those fitted to my Scorpio. Anybody can verify if they indeed are the same?

Just had a quick look on ebay - check eBay item number : 400773569389 and do a compatibility check - looks to me like they are the same.

They were the same! The Sierra Cosworth calipers fitted, (and worked), just fine!

I'm getting into this atm, since breaking a stub shaft on my 24V BOB Cossie powered Puma Rally Car, which has a 24V Estate back end in it. When the shaft broke, as the wheel came off it bent the caliper mount lugs on the hub bearing carrier, and broke the caliper carrier and bent its pins So here's my Ford Back Brakes 101 LOL................... There are 2 different widths of Caliper from Sierra / Granada / Scorpio Range depending on whether you have Vented or Solid Discs, Vented type are wider, Calipers are left or right handed................ There are 2 different Disc diameters, 273 and 253 mm in Vented and Solid, so 4 different Discs, discs are not handed. Caliper Carriers there are 2 different, Vented and Solid, Vented have 71mm long slider pins and Solid have 60mm long slider pins, obviously the Vented type Carriers are wider, carriers are not handed. Hub Bearing Carriers there are 2 Different ones, the Caliper Carrier Mount holes are further up for larger diameter 273mm Discs than the mount holes for the smaller 253mm Discs, bearing carriers are not handed. So there we have it, correct me if I'm wrong but I think that about covers it Cheers Dave
