Can you confirm or deny if this piece of kit can reprogram the immobiliser fob of the 92-94 Scorpio Cosworth? Thanks

It re codes Ignition Keys, so it should be able to, but I've never personally tried it, however, there is another procedure which involves turning the key and pressing buttons, I'm sure someone on here can advise the exact procedure to save me looking it up HTH Dave

92-94, presumably a Granada Scorpio so probably a different procedure. Trouble with FDS is unless you plug it in to the car or have tried it on a similar car there's no way of telling what it can do. There doesn't appear to be any FDS 2000 documentation around giving specific details of what it can do for each model. You don't get an option to program the remote on a Scorpio – presumably because you don’t need to do it via FDS, I don’t know about a Granada Scorpio. Have you tried the procedure here: http://www.justanswer.com/uk-ford/5efaf-ford-granada-scorpio-re-program- bosch-rk112-imoboliser.html

Regarding the Mk3 Granada Bosch immobilisers,I found them so prone to failure at the most inopportune times that at the first hint of any malfunction I would remove them from their hidey hole on the left side of the front of the centre console and cut the loom off to solder the relevant wires together as if the device was in the running mode. This is no mean feat and requires gynaecological skills to attack via the radio aperture unless you are prepared for a large amount of dismantling. The system was poor and unreliable, the PATS on the 95 on Scorpio is a much better arrangement.

The Bosch immobiliser suffered dry solder joints and the engine just cuts out. Mine would start again, right away, but the cutting out just got more and more. As Gozz says, its a pig to get out, all the screws did not go back on mine .
