Widscreen Glass wholesalers in NW Scoland ??

Hi, As the title says I'm after finding out who the windscreen fitting companies buy their glass from, pref in Inverness area I'm happy to set up an account, or pay upon order, the fleets I look after these days include 3 Vito Minibuses, 4 Volvo Van Hool Coaches, 3 Sprinters, 2 Crafters, 2 BMW 5's, MR2, Fiesta, Hymer Merc Camper, 3 Shoguns, VW Passat, Landy Defender, Scudo Van, the Rally Car plus a few more I've forgotten LOL........... So with the roads and winter gritting up here we always need screens !! I'm fed up with being ripped off by the local yee ha's................. In 11 months I've had 4 screens in my Puma rally car..........last one was £200 fitted early this year, now the same company wants £340 and 2 other quotes are £300 and £265 !! One local guy even had the audacity to bullsh!t me with " There's only one of them screens left mate, after that you'll not get another !! " And all said and done, a lot of these firms don't do a very good job either, I've had one bonded in my Merc p!ssed, and told they're always like that, others that have leaked, and apertures scratched with rust starting.....................Only to get fobbed off with BS. If I was in Leeds I could buy the glass for £100 and allowing a generous £20.00 for PU Glue and primers consumables etc that's £120, cost and less than an hours work. However that supplier won't courier them and I don't blame him, reckon they'd arrive cracked if my experience with couriers and 4 Mercedes radiators was anything to go by LOL !! I have removed and bonded loads of screens in when I lived in England, and up here nowadays I always remove the cracked ones myself and touch in the screen aperture prior to the cowboys coming to fit them Rant over LOL, Can anyone help here, obviously my local companies won't answer the question !! Cheers Dave

Thanks Matt, I've got their details, they have a branch in Glasgow, but that is still a 300 mile round trip for me and most of them will not courier for obvious reasons. I know the local firms use somewhere in Inverness, but the local guys won't give out that information I'm going to ring Laddaw in Glasgow monday as it seems they may deliver Cheers Dave

May sound daft Dave, but Pinefield glass when they used to be Yules, did a glass for both of my Kit-Cars when I built them in the late 90's. One was straight, but the Rotrax was curved. They were both laminated, 6mm thick with a piece of film between the sheets. Cost then about £40 each. I think the Rotrax had a replacement in 2001, ask for John-Dawson. DON'T mention me, I just had an argument with John about a year ago about a door for the house he'd supplied, and I won the argument that cost him a few quid!
