Petrol Tank Straps

Hi. I am in need of 2 offside Petrol Tank straps and I seem to remember that somebody on here had sourced a Supplier , but I can't find the thread . Can someone please remind me where to look? Mike

Mike, I'll look for the thread BUT if you have a look at Toolstation you will see they do strapping in their Builders Metalwork.The material is very strong and I'm sure you could shape up suitable brackets. The one thing that is always mentioned is protecting the actual tank from rubbing etc. Update:- This is the thread you wanted Scorpio Mike provides the answer.

Yep, I've got a new tank ready for fitting. I went to local Ford who want £95 for the only strap that's in stock. I'll make a couple I reckon. I'll get a hold of an old inner-tube and cut it up to act as a barrier between.

. Thanks for your advice folks. I found an old strap which will do nicely I am dead chuffed really as my metal working skills are nil. Can't solder, weld or do woodwork etc. Me parents wanted me to earn a living using me brain.... Didn't work out that way at all, but never mind I'm happy, aaaaannnnnnddddd I have 3 Scorpios!! I made replacement straps out of stainless strips bought off eBay. Just keep the "hook" end from the old strap and fold the new strap through it - you'll know what I mean when you take the old strap off.
