Yeah adrad is ok price. I've had trouble getting a  radiator as companies can't get them anymore. Fastrads.co.uk can't get them, I've just had a refund from them.

I'm going to city radiator services tomorrow morning, I had quite a promising chat to them just now

Don't know where you are located Ben but there is a company in Tunbridge Wells called Bryan & Sons who do radiator repairs & re-cores - I went there a while back to get a Sierra radiator re-cored and he was working on a load of vintage stuff !
You can get the phone number via a Google search.

I've ordered a copper and brass radiator from city radiator services in Bilston for £255 with a 5% discount for sharing on Facebook when I go and pay next Saturday.

My new radiator made by city radiators Bilston

Fantastic service, made using the original as a pattern. It has a upgraded copper core and brass tanks. I'm just going to pick it up...

I flush the engine out, it was nasty

It took a few goes but it's all good now. The new radiator was great.

Next problem

What's the best way of fixing this? I've ordered a box of heat shrink tube but ideally I need to get a tool to get the pins out to do a good repair. Any ideas what type I need?

Inline crimp connectors, will need a crimping tool though.    Something like this.   http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=terminal+crimp+connector s&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=43348367797&hvpos=1t2&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7698103874512485047&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_9uenpfznhn_b

Ben, this picture shows a tool I made https://www.flickr.com/photos/90140801@N05/8202596676/. to release the connectors from their housing. If the new one does not fit you may wish to make something similar. The metal probes are just strips removed from an old wiper blade. Smiley

That's great guys. I'm getting closer to being ready for mot. Unfortunately I keep finding little things that are holding me back.

I had a battery debacle today. Carparts4less list the wrong type of battery with square terminals (097) so I did some research. I found other companies listing 096 so ordered one from eurocarparts.com and returned the 097 at the same time. 096 have the correct terminals but are about 10mm too tall for the strap.  After waiting another 30 minutes in the que I finally got the correct 100 type battery,  it was the cheapest out of the three at only £41.

The crank sensor wiring is repaired now. Now I'm wondering what this is for and why only one wire is attached?

No need for two wires to sensors it use the block as 2nd wire ... i.e. earth.
Just like the temp sender lower down that only has one wire!

What does the box do? It strange that it has a two pin plug but no second wire. How is it connected to the block?

I would say it is a sensor possibly checking the spark from the coilpack?

It looks like a suppressor, a capacitor for suppressing radio interference. It will earth through the block it is bolted to, as mentioned already. They probably used a 2 pin connector as they are more common, hence cheaper. I'm not sure mine has got one, I just don't remember seeing one. Probably the reason my radio has always been a bit poor!
