Hi, I noticed towing the caravan that the Green light on the dash flashes on/off, never done this before - it has now stopped flashing on re-starting the engine. Is there a major fault about to develop? Podge.

Is it the O/ D light ? which I believe flashes with a gearbox fault. Now it has gone out it suggests it has reset itself on restart. Have you driven it since whilst towing?

Hi Guys, Thanks for your replies - I should have said it is the overdrive Green light operated from gear function lever. I have been out with it to-day covered 30 miles and it seems s back to normal and kicks the rev counter down when at 50 mph Hi, tve, I have always towed with the overdrive engaged - or NOT engage overdrive? many thanks, Podge.

Get an OBD scan done to see if there are any codes relating to the gearbox & have a read of this : http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/odlight.htm Do you have the extra transmission cooler installed under the radiator ? Quite possible the flashing O/D light may relate to an ATF high temperature condition given that you were towing a caravan.
