CO Emissions

As reported in "News," "The Beast" passed the MOT yesterday. However I do have some concerns as the CO emissions are just about legal and I would like to remedy this. So here I am once more looking for excellent advice from you chaps. She has just recently had the loom re-wired etc. 2 New Cats fitted about a 10 days ago. I cleared the fault codes: Both post Cat H02 Sensors - high voltage, and in "Enhanced" Bank 2 pre-Cat Sensor "Switches - Sensor indicates rich." Having learned that the Electrician had not cleared the Fault Codes on my other Cossie I was/am waiting for some miles to pass before I check again. In the meantime she drives absolutely superbly, can't fault her. What do you think?? Mike

Mike. I think it is a close run thing with these cars now. I have exactly the same problem with my car each year.

Just found an old MOT certificate for my 2.3 16v Scorpio with 148000 miles from Dec 2010 - CO readings as follows : Fast Idle : 0.03% - Limit 0.20% Natural Idle : 0.08% - Limit 0.30% If your MOT readings are very close to the legal limit you might have a failing sensor.

I would say, replace the lambda sensor. Go for a decent one rather than a cheapo, I replaced my Jag ones, cost £135 for the two.
