ABS unit Update

You will recall my previous post when I was having persistent ABS problems with Right Rear Sensor Fault. Not cured by new sensor Not cured by new wiring sensor to multiplug. Not cured by different abs unit When the auto electrician rewired it he piggy-backed the new wires with the old. Cutting the old wiring off and just leaving the new seems to have cured the problem, presumably caused by the wires shorting somewhere in the loom where insulation has cracked off. MORAL- if replacing wiring don't leave the old wiring connected. We live and learn! Glyn

Sorry to say judging by posts on here involving auto electricians, they don't seem very impressive

Agreed. Back to my original trusted ford trained guy (wasn't available at the time). At least he seems to understand the scorps better than the "specialists".

I mentioned in your other post that the wires should be twisted pair. The reason is to stop electrical interference, it may well be the old wires were shorting however it could have been leaving the old wires connected caused interference.
