Hi Scorpio lovers, I am looking for a front bumper and have come across a man who has cleared Spikies shed of small parts, I have just purchased a o/s front facelift headlamp off him.
His name is John Alpinetre mobile no. 0786 699 0734 (North Weald)
Hope this info is useful, I am now looking for the man who cleared out his stock of front bumpers

Paul. Send a PM to Snoopy. Steve's daughter contacted him with the news and it was she who was having to close up the business. Snoopy may well have her contact details. Wink

I too would be interested to know where the front bumpers have gone to.

Thank you Simmo, Snoopy gave me Spikie's daughters email address and I have exchanged emails with her but she cannot shed any light on the company that cleared the site out for her, only to say it was a month ago that she had it cleared. The only thing I can think of it must have been a local scrap merchant.
I shall keep looking Glyn as my location is in Romford Essex.
I asked Claire how Steve was getting on he is recovering well but very slowly.  Cry

Following on about front bumpers I ended up having my bumper repaired, it was completely shattered but this guy ended up adding reinforcing and fibre glass re painted it Panther Black, it looked like new again all for £250. So Glyn it can be done, Spickie was selling his ones for £200 then painting on top. Smiley

Paul, it certainly can be done that way. Another tip, from Scorpio Mike, he of the large shed and bigger loft!!, but no Scorpio now, is to spray expanding building foam into the cavity to reinforce it. I can tell you it works! The other thing I found was that using fine aluminium sheeting with fibreglass is a great and easy way to maintain a profile. IF you get the shape set with the aluminium the fibre glass will follow it. The metal sheet can be held in place by touching it with hot soldering iron or blowlamp heated s p o o n  which will melt the plastic enough to hold the mesh in place. Wink

Hopefully you won't need those tips but someone might! Grin

I had to space out the word s p o o n because the site didn't like it and insisted on replacing it with 'thingy'  Roll Eyes

If you use the expanding foam technique, additional strength can be added by using short lengths of PVC overflow pipe into large holes before squirting the foam in - hold the pipe in place with wire or similar and trim off any excess once the foam has set.
