One side windows plus electric mirror not working

Yesterday both right sided (=passenger side here) windows and mirror stopped moving (lucky us they're still in closed position with these torrential typhoon rains here!), but they're not working by pressing any button including the ones on the driver side door or even using the key. Anyone have a hint towards a most probable cause - or lesser probable for that matter. (1996 Scorp 2.3) thanks ia for any reply ! Rox

Check the fuses 25,26,and 28 in the main fuse box. Detail here. You mention torrential rain. Have you got a battery cover fitted and are all the drain holes around both fuse boxes clear?

Had the same problem myself (although mine is RHD so my right is the driver's side) and it turned out to be the big black connector on the door pillar (front) , otherwise think about a faulty door module.

Ok guys thanks A lot, I checked the fuses and they're alright; battery cover as always in place and clean all around. Soooo i'm a gonna have to dig deeper and check out the connector(s) and\or module as Glyn points out. To be honest regarding the (right) mirror, ive no idea if it gave the ghost along with the windows or that it was broken already, as I don't change it much.

Sounds as though the door connector is a likely suspect.

The bundle of wires to the door goes through a rubber gaiter - every time the door is opened or closed the wires are flexed. It is not unknown for the wires to break. I've had this happen on my Sierra. If you can access both ends of the door loom you can use a continuity tester to check if there are any breaks.
