ford reversing sensors

Looking to add a set of original reversing sensors to my estate, is the distance apart critical or can they be spaced further apart on the rear bumper as it may make fitting easier? This is th proper 2 sensor original Ford fitment.

Hi Roy When I fitted mine (2 lots to saloons) the kit had a cut-out template to fix to the bumper to enable you to drill the centres in the correct place. I'm sure there were instructions for the estate as well. May have them somewhere. Glyn
