Mike, they are a clip in fitting. You need to slide a strong thin blade under the nozzle edge whilst watching the paintwork! Masking tape would help. You may find it easier to access from underneath where the hose connects but IIRC you have to drop the edge of the bonnet felt. IF they are heated there will be tiny wires attached, probably corroded and brittle. so there will be an electrical connection as well. When you say u/s. How? Is it just blocked as usually a pin in the jet sorts that or is the whole unit not getting water which means an issue with the tubing?

Hi Mike Be very careful they can swell up and can be very tight. I recently had to change mine for mot and a large screwdrive working from the underside of the bonnet worked well. Gerald.

I agree Gerald. Much safer way and the ability to use, as you say, a larger, stronger implement.

Thank you everyone for your very helpful advice. I apologise for this very late reply, life here is very hectic, so please bear with me whilst I find the time to give it a go and I will report on progress. In the meantime I have managed to get one of the nozzles to squirt screen wash onto the passenger side. ot very satisfactory, but still! Sunroofs open, windows wound down and listen to the lovely noise of the Scorpio as she purrs through the Countryside, of course with the occasional growl. Happy day to all Mike

Once you get the bonnet up and can detach the tubing from the jets make sure you are getting a flow to both from the washer bottle/pump. There is a filter in the bottle which can become clogged ...a classic is 'gunge' caused by the addition of washing up liquid! It does not mix with screenwash! The filter is rubber and sits over the pump outlet and forms the seal which actually holds the pump in place. Think of a 'thimble'. Proceed with caution if you need to go that route. Access is of course from the underneath on the front offside and be prepared for a wet arm if/when you remove the pump! If the flow is getting to the jets leave the rest well alone! Don't yank at the tubing to the nozzles. Apply a little warmth with a hair dryer or similar to soften it and avoid snapping the connections.

Well, I got it out eventually using a strong screwdriver and lots of wiggling about without damaging the bonnet ot paintwork and after lots of blowing, soaking in hot water wit Fairy liquid and more needle work I re-fitted it and hey presto it works. Dead chuffed Mike
