Darton,
Yes; other independant garages apart from Ford Main Dealers have the diagnostic kit to read Ford trouble codes. The kit itself is several thousand pounds worth, and the garage will pay extra and add different manufacturer's modules as they require.
Book your car in to an independant, just make sure they can read the EECV module first.
Or buy your own OBD lead, read http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/obdindetail.htm and diagnose the problem yourself.

Which sensor do you have trouble with?

Baz,
Yep, what time are you getting there?
Darton,
One of the advantages of the OBD lead we use is that you can do a scan, zip the files together and put it up on the http://www.anyboard.net/autos/cars/scorpio/index.html site where other owners can run the scan and look it over. I have loads of scans from different cars I can compare yours with if we need to.
Do a scan first - check out http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/easyguide.htm
and when you're happy with that, log in and select RPM MPH MAF and go for a drive. Stop the trace, call the file darton01 and zip the three scan files together and put it on the Anyboard site and let us know it's there.
We'll run it on our own VE and check the MAF out.

As early as I can. I am only about 3/4 hour away so not too bad.

What about yourself?

Eric
just as a bit of feedback from my own probs which you kindly sorted. replacing the pre cat h02 sensor has resulted in a lot smoother engine whilst warming up and the average mpg, which i didnt reset, is slowly climbing up. was stuck around 19 for weeks but is now approaching 22.

thanks

Andy

PS, i now have a cut down and ground out spanner to make the impoosible job of getting to it just possible if anyone wants to  borrow it!

Allante,
Excellent. I can feel a new page coming on,  Grin
I'll let you know when it's up.

Thanks for sharing the problem with us and I'm glad it's sorted. Now you can sit back and feel very smug that your lead has saved all that Main Dealer time.

Baz,
We've got a long way to get there, so I'm not sure. We'll definitely be there before 1000 hours because after that it can be difficult to get on site - according to the instructions.

Looking forward to it.   Cheesy
