SCANTOOL lead+Vehicle Explorer?

Hello!
I have an opportunity to buy Scantool OBD lead at a very cheap price! The question is: will it work wit CAR EXPLORER or not! VE is an excellent piece of soft and it's FREEWARE!

Well I bought an Elm320 based OBDII setup with Scantool from Gendandirect.co.uk and it works brilliantly with the Scantool software - however despite dozens of attempts and settings etc i have NEVER got it to connect with Vehicle Explorer, I can only guess that the lead supplied with VE when you buy it is somehow different.
If anybody knows any different and has actually managed to get VE to work with a lead like this please let me know...
