Software Update

I've had an OBD lead for some time now. Not often used but still..
The thing is, I had all the software loaded on my old laptop, but that has now died (well kind of  )
I decided to reload the software from OBD-2.com to the new laptop using the info I kept from first time around. But the self-extract link I have is no longer recognised. I assume its been updated.
Now, if I use the new updated link, do I need a new software ID number to register it or will the old one still work?
If I need new numbers, would anyone care to share?

Paul,
I update my software frequently and the original code has always worked.
