Advice needed!

I'm not stupid,but I'm no whizzkid either!
My scorp 2.0l 8v twin cam saloon ghia has done 135000 miles and never had an obd test, and I feel it needs one by someone who knows what to look for.
Now aside from FMC establishments (because of possibly £50 an hour) Where could I get a reliable test done for a reasnoble price that may answer some of the odd fuel consumption figures and lack of power problems that I've experienced since the car has got older? You know, make the old girl a little more sprightly again! Undecided
   Hopefully

if the car is showing no sins of playing up,might be best to leave it alone, what happens if codes come up ?,you'll only start worrying about them then, but i do see your side of checking "just in case".....
assumming then you dont have a lead and a laptop, have you attended any of the meetings (or are planning to) ?,somebody always has one there, failing that, somebody "local" might read this and be able to assist you further...

good luck..

I agree with Craig there.

Either get a reading done at one of the many meetings going on now, or ask someone local to give you a look.

I also agree that sometimes leaving things alone can seem like the best action. But you never know what tiny little thing may be wrong. There may be something, with an easy fix, that will make the car a whole lot better.

Ay up mate,

Hopalong in Boston area has my reader kit at the moment. That may not be  a million miles from you. It might be worth asking him how he's getting on and put your name next on the mailing list. He's using it with a desktop parked near a window. You may be able to do the same.

Be warned!.  It can get to be addictive!

Your doing good guys.
I'm a typical man! If an obd shows some problems,I'll concentrate on the worst one until its solved.I'm not going to be womenised and try to solve more than one problem at a time!(which I hear women are very good at Grin)
Ron drop me a mail with the details mate!
      thanks all

Hi Dart,

Hopalong has a topic just below this one and you can get him with a personal message. I've just looked at his latest postings and he may be looking for replacement rather than repair.
