Hi guys A stupid question BUT I have had my lead now for about 8 months I have used it so I know that it works but I went to use it on the weekend but I couldnt get it to connect to 24v. I run windows XP home and I have a usb to serial lead which is connected to the obd2 lead which connects to my lap Top. Could someone point me in the right dirrection on what I am doing wrong. I rember when I had the lead I had to enter a number in order to use it but I cant find where to enter that number again. HELP

Alan, A better page to work through would be http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/usingobd.htm Then there a guide to using OBD in ten steps - http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/easyguide.htm Make sure you don't connect the OBD lead to the laptop until it is finished booting up, otherwise Windows detects the module and installs it as a mouse. You only need to enter the serial number once - after that it will connect immediately, so that shouldn't be the problem HTH
