Hi There, Could be a dodgy fuel pressure regulator. how's your MAF behaving? Take a look here http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/maftest.htm Can your reader record MAF readings over a range of revs (should increase with revs - if it doesn't its b*gg*r*d) Though could be other causes. Others will have more experience on this. Paul

no it doesnt i'm afraid. It is a very basic cheap reader. Does anyone know FINIS codes for MAF, Fuel Regulator? Prices expected to pay?

Strongly advise you get it read by someone with appropriate lead. The 2 are obvious answers but could be others. MAF is about £100, FRPR about £50 (and will take about an hour) but dont wont to waste time & money by guessing the answer. Whats the symptoms in driving?

No symptoms really, thats the point. But then ive had nothing to compare it with. Perhaps a little thirsty? Avrge 22mpg?? Fault codes are intermittant, once cleared they dont come back for a week or so. Disconnected the MAF today on a test run too. Car started ok, even drove ok if not perhaps a little "thumpy" on the gear changes.

LOC, This is the reason that we advise the purchase of the scan lead from Alex Peper. With the very basic scan tool you can read the DTCs, but not the detail of why they are caused. P1131,1151 are the HO2S sensors not switching for several seconds, while P0171 is a fuel trim (adjustment) too high, and these DTCs may be connected, although it would be better to make sure the engine is fully hot before checking for DTCs. Fuel trims can be forced too lean by a faulty MAF, but we would need to watch the MAF readings during a live scan before we can confirm this. Can you meet with someone near you with a lead and we could look at the scan and decide.
