i will be buying it on sataday.
i did an obd scan and found 1270 fault code.
i must have started it up more than 3 times and this fault was still there.
could you tell me if it will clear
or if i should have cleared it , and it woiuldnt have come back ?

yes, clear the code at the start of the test drive. see if it returns afterwards. should be ok.
sounds like it 'red lined' in 1st gear  as long as you don't do that as a regular thing, it should be fine.
max power is at 5600rpm and max torque at 4500rpm, so you're heading down hill at that rpm

i thinks the boys who are selling me the car had been playing with it.
part exchanging my my 97 cossie for a 1999 2.3 i didnt give it a thrashing on my test drive.(pointless)
will do as you say reset and take for another test drive.
