thanks I do realise that, but the website he has is fairly dreadful to follow..... and it's in the USA..... and he is on hols for a good part of the year..... 
So is there much difference, i.e. do they all read/produce the same codes?

yes, just about. we've had the odd code a bit different, but not many.
the main part of obd is not the code reading (although it helps  ), it's the understanding what it's trying to tell you, hence where the sharing of the 'real' data is so helpfull.

Thanks, the reason I ask is that I was 'going halves' with a mate who has a Saab 95 1998 (ISO) and the Digimoto does work with that apparently, but I cannot get confirmation that it will definately work with the Alex unit.
