OBD Scan needed on 24V in MK

Can anyone scan my car in the Milton Keynes area? I can travel to you of course. It would appear that my local garage who I've used for years have hit a wall! They say the codes need FMD diagnostics, this can't be right can it? 1st scan they did showed fuel issues and the second one shows immobiliser issues. Symptoms are that car turns over but fails to start.

If its immobiliser issues i.e PATS then have a look at the red light on the top of the dash it might be flashing a code.. As in PATS

I'll check the PATS codes tomorrow. Thanks Snoop. Does the immobiliser 'kicking in' turn the fuel pump off? Symptons I'm getting are car turns over but fails to start, its been to the garage twice (had to be towed) but each time they check it it starts.

Check the fuel pump relay then , they have been a cause of trouble over the years .

The other very basic check is the battery. Did the garage 'boost' it to start ?. Often the car will turn over BUT not have enough power in the battery to actually start it.

My "saga" is listed in the "give / seek advise" section under "RED KEY". Car fails to start; it had the new green/purple relay supplied by FMD. When it does fail to start apparently the fuel pump is not kicking in possibly due to an "immobiliser problem". The reason I originally asked about the key was that the car seemed to start once when I used the spare key. I also unlocked and locked the car with the key instead of the remote, this made no difference to me but when the mechanic tried this method it did start. Very annoying and intermittent fault, but when it fails it fails and wont start. Not good if you are "out and about"! Any more help would be greatly appreciated.

Where can this cheeky 'loom' be located? I'm a novice at car wiring and engines.....I only have to open the bonnet and I'm filthy!

Waglet.
The 24valve one is a real swine to get at because it is buried in the V underneath the intake manifolds, and it is a source of problems as it is subjected to heat and any water leak that may occur in that area.

Thanks for that Mr Gozz. Thats cheered me up! An expert saying its a swine to get to does not bode well! Any one know an 'expert' in the MK / Bucks area who can deal with this? Cheers

Waglet.
Even if I were an expert, the 24v engine loom,at least the part in the V,would still be a swine to get at.The gearbox cabling is contained within it too, thus problems with shifts are sometime encountered.

Ford Main Dealer then? Looks like I scared off the Independent Ford Specialist as he never returned the message I left him. All I've got to do is get it started and get it there. hee hee. I presume they will diagnose the fault and fix it without ripping me off? My alternative is to buy the Saab I've been loaned.....its a superb drive but not quite a Scorpio.
