My Bluetooth Elm327 recently packed up, I bought another different one on ebay but this one won’t work with Forscan. I contacted the seller & he says: “HI, to use forscan you need an adaptor with a switch on it, we have them here: (I’ve removed his link for now) these adaptors will not work, I would not bother trying any others they will not work unless they have the HS/MS can switch on the back.” Strange as I had no problem with my unswitched Elm327 Presumably something to do with the version of the elm chip. Anyway, I won’t be buying a switched one as I have an obd11 lead for the Scorpio. I had mainly bought another Elm for a different car (which it doesn’t work properly on either). Incidentally this was one of the short scanners but it is fatter & a barely room to plug into the Scorpio & a pig to get out, so best avoid this type for a Scorpio. Whilst waiting for a reply from the seller I’d bought another more expensive elm scanner – not from ebay. I’ll modify this post when I have more info.
