Fitting Heated Seats

Slightly off topic here, as I'm thinking of another vehicle...

If I was able to get myself a couple of heating pads for the seats of, say... a Scorpio, and wanted to fit them into, say... my old Cortina ( Grin)  ....... how would I go about wiring them in?

I've never had mine apart to inspect wiring or whatever, so don't know what's involved.

ah yes ..well the Cortina has the wiring all in place ready to accept heat pads and you just fit the pads with tie wraps and hey presto ..warm a** !!   Grin  Grin .. hmm or maybe not ....

.. fused live feed to a relay or timer relay < a heated rear window relay will do it ..or of course a Scorp heated seat relay> .. fused live off the relay and an earth to seat area ..  a conveniently placed switch ..seat pads ..away you go !!

heated Cortina seats eh !!.. Paul you POSEUR !!!!

Paul,

I will have a look in my garage because I did have a genuine set of Cortina MK V Heated seat pads and switches. I was going to fit them to my dads Y reg Crusader.

I may still have them, but they may have gone in a batch of cortina V bits I flogged on EBay 18 months or so ago

Baz... that would be great if you still have them  Smiley

Didn't realise they did them on 'tinas. Mind you, you're talking Mk5's - I'm still stuck in a Mk3 timewarp!  Wink

Is a bit of a pose though isn't it?  Grin  But I need to get the drivers seat repaired slightly, so I'm just thinking, while they're being messed about with....    Roll Eyes
