Searched about a bit and apparently there was one... The Special Edition Mondeo Ultima 6 page brochure Ford Ref FA 1173, Mar 1994 And this from .. http://www.fordmondeoownersclub.co.uk/history.asp April 1994 Special edition 1.6i 'Aspen' hatchback and estate, 1.8i 'Mistral' saloon and hatchback and 1.8i 'Ultima' hatchback and estate launched in UK. Sorry I seems to be blabbering about Mundaneos.... I'll shut up now.

Must be the less good looking brother of the scorp! More likely the guy is trying to bump up the value with the ultima name so it's really just an overactive imagination, straying a touch from the truth....no change for ebay that Looks like a normal Si to me...... Someones bound to fall for it. Paul

Well, my immediate reaction was "There's no such thing. He's making it up." But now I'm not so sure I mean, if its there in a Ford brochure, I guess it must have existed in some capacity. And they do say you learn something new every day. But anyway, there's only one kind of Ultima to my mind, and that's our kind.

The mondeo version was not as well appointed as our kind. But you can still get the ultima badge from the mondeo which is one of those soft plastic bubble type ones! Baz

Flopster, you're not one of these types who puts things you find in bins on eBay are you? You're right though, there's being honest and selling a car, and then there's not doing yourself any favours. It's not a bad car.. but I don't understand this Ultima thing. It doesn't look particularly good compared to the Ghia. Hmm. Then again we can't see what fake wood it might have from those pictures. I love moi fake wood! No, I don't.... Has anyone ever tried to replace it with real walnut? The door panels would be easy enough.. but the dash surround would not. Unless you made a plaster mould from the plastic surround and then filled it with some sort of sloppy wood pulp.. and perhaps painted it. A real botch job. I don't know much about these things. D

| Dave... I think you summed it up yourself there. I think it would look like dried sloppy wood pulp, only painted Seriously though, the dash surround has got such a shape to it, that you'd never make a decent job of it. Far better to start liking your fake wood I think.

Yep, the plastic "Oak " will never stain, fade, warp, catch fire , smell or get woodworm. Sometimes fake is better than real ( just look at Jordan !! ).

No they don't.. you can't see anything in the dark... now if you'd said they all feel the same in the dark then maybe I could have started a debate there.. but I don't think they do so it's moot point.. now if you said they all SOUND the same in the dark.. well there I could possibly join in and contribute

I had a For Mondeo Ultima 1.8 and it was a beauty, not in comparison to a Scorpio but it was nice all the same, heated electric seats, back support and not to mention that the where deep bucket seats. Basicly the Mondeo Ultima is a Mondeo with Sports interior. twin airbags TC and ABS. the Colour of mine was Electric Current (red). This is the engine of it, Ill find some more! JJ
