I got a copy from eBay as the Scorpio is number 48. For most cars there are about 100-200 words. For the Scorpio, just:

'Executive cars are meant to convey a combination of taste, affluence and discretion. The Scorpio did none of these. On the other hand, it was fantastically good at scaring children.'

And then there are two stunning pictures of them!

Number one crappest car is the VW Beetle!

When i'm done with it i'm going to sell it on again, it's only a little book. Arr.

Did smile when I read the description of the Scorp, but they aren't far wrong with that hateful little beetle, it's really really horrid.

The original book just had the full Morris/Austin line ups from 70's and 80's Wink Grin

Heh heh fair enough then. I've never known anyone who owned a Beetle, except dad.. in the seventies. He loved it for some reason, even though it needed a lot of welding even though it was young. Eek.

I suppose after a while we learn to love and miss our old cars. We forget the problems and they seem pretty good. I'll never forget the Scorp though.. it's been good as Gold! Well, good as.... silver. Stainless steel....

tin foil.... no! It really has been good. Ach.

I don't suppose the Mini  is in it ?

Weedy little pedal bin rust bucket on wheels, rear sub-frame would fall off  after 4 months, cold ,draughty, noisy, leaked at every  door seal  and  engine was pooped  after 60 000 mls.

     Abysmal.

Yet I  had a soft spot for the much derided Allegro.

In 1980 I had a HUUUGE hankering for a 1750 Allegro. My mate had one and it seemed to me the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. Metallic green and alloys at a time when alloys where a very rare sight.
