The Royal Mail Post seems to take ages - have you guys noticed letters seem to be taking longer to be delivered

Even First Class should be renamed Possibility Class

Makes you cry really, at home our post always used to get to us b4 8am. Now we're lucky to get it by 11am. Saturdays, don't be silly.

At work we get our delivery at about 11.30 -12.00  Shocked on a good day. They have even started removing the plates from letterboxes,. you're lucky to get a last collection time, let alone full details of collection times during the day.

true fact......

last monday we were both out (church Wink),when we arrived home,we had a note in the door from our postman, saying they were holding a recorded delivery item at the office (5 mins up the road),this was stamped as 12.55,we arrived home at 1.40,and were up the post office depot at 1.45,can you believe that in 50 minutes and an area of about 1 mile, they had only been and lost the thing.....................................................

still trying to trace it now apparently....!!!!!

Craig, don't hold out too much hope, we had the same thing happen here. After two weeks of ringing them everyday and going there to see if they had found the parcel yet, no joy, and we were advised that it was now lost. Humph, made it all the way from the US to our front door, and still they lost it.

Do hope you have better luck than us though Grin

If it helps, it was the fault of a temporary postie, so they couldn't ask him what he did with it cos he was gone (I wonder why) Roll Eyes

I always used to be around for the postman at home (don't leave till about 9:30 most days. On the odd day when I did miss a parcel, you used to get a card saying pick up from the main post office in 2 hours. I got one last week that said pick up in 24 hours!! I rang the post office and after only 97 rings it was answered. The guy on the other end said that it was new policy because whereas the postman always used to go back to the hq after his shift, now they can go home and if they have a parcel not delivered, they can put it back in the post for delivery to the main sorting office for me to collect 24 hours later!!

Another one, one time I was in my office and after a hard day and no post delivery, me and my business partner decided to call it a day. My car was round the back and after driving round the front to pass the office, I was amazed to see a post lady delivering mail to our office....it was 5:25 in the evening!! This must be a joke I thought so I stopped and asked. Only to be told that she was only a temp and didn't know warrington very well!! The post office also wanted to charge businesses for getting their mail early, do I qualify for a refund??

Can this be a record?

Hi all  Cheesy
Worry not were not alone, even the great US postal service has its moments as I am expericencing at the moment with the apparent loss of my OBDII cable ordered from the VE people, great stuff.
Unless of course it is still simply on its way via Kevin Costner on horseback with another bod in a rowing boat to bring it across the 'pond' whereupon he will hand it over to our trusty and reliable Royal Mail (LOL) Grin  Grin
We shall see  Wink

Greetings to all from a sunny 92Degrees in CHITIPA

See note below from the post Office

Good morning

Thank you for your email enquiry from which I am sorry to hear of your
concern that an item of a Recorded Delivery mail has not yet arrived.

Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to say where this particular
item
is. This is because we are unable to keep individual records of First
and
Second Class
letters or packets at any stage of their journey due to the large
volumes
we handle each day.

There is still the chance that your item could be delivered as it is
not
considered as lost until 15 working days after its due delivery date
(working days are classed as Monday to Saturday, excluding Bank
Holidays).

It is extremely important for us to understand if the problem with this
item is one of delay or actual loss, not least so that we can offer you
appropriate compensation, if you are entitled to it.   For this reason,
please can I ask that you contact us again
as soon as it is delivered or if it has still not been delivered after
15
working days.

I trust that this e-mail will answer your queries, however to enable
Royal
Mail Customer Services to investigate this matter fully.

Yours sincerely
Royal Mail
