Cutting out

Hello everyone. i have recently got a scorpio and have had to put a new inlet manifold on it due to the thermo-stat housing being cracked. since i have done this job every now and then when pulling up to lights and junctions ect, the revs drop and the engine cuts out, it is as if the gearbox is still in 3rd gear. i have looked for an air leak but have not found one yet. if anyone has had the same or simalar problem please let me know
