That isn't a P reg either, it has got the side airbags so it must be a proper facelift on an r or s plate!!

Hi Craig.
To be honest its probably beyond ecnomical repair.
and it breaks my heart to break a car but that is what will happen to it if i win the auction.
The front end already has a home, on mine, just the bumper and fogs, the headlights mine already has.
QUESTION
, mine is a 98 R plate, it is a facelift but doesn`t have the face lift front bumper.
The grill and lights are all face lift, so whys that?
The interior and wheels and any other good bits are going on here to keep ours going. oh yeh i want the engine as a spare.

jay...
as yours is a 98,the general theory is this....

as the car began to near it's shelf life, ford continued to make the car with basically what ever was left over, hence you do tend to see a lot of 1997/98 models with a face lifted rear end,but still the pre facelift front end,.....
although ironically as the car began to near the very end (mainly s platers and the occasional t plater),the majority of them had all the face lift features.....
querky ford thing i think

Jay,

more likely yours has had a bump at sometime and the repair was made using all the bits left over plus a new "old" style bumper

There wouldn't have been any "facelift" cars made with non facelift parts as this would be a big no-no from an advertising, trading standards point of view.

There is a general perception that most Scorpios are somewhat different to the next one. This isn't really the case as designs and specs change over the course of a production run. The changes are somewhat documented on the main site but not when silly little things were deleted such as the retaining straps in the saloon boots of the M and N reg cars. It really is all about build dates with these cars rather than registration dates.

Craig, Baz.
I think both points are valid. Agree
Any way if i win the auction i can put mine back to how Uncle Henry wanted her to be. Smiley Fully face lifted.
Got to win it first.
I already have 2 twelve spokes left over from putting some on mine.
Got 3 from the scrappy, 3 from Ebay and one from Gaz01Gaz. so got my 5 from the better ones and got 2 left over.
I will put these on the "For sale" section if any body is interested.

Jay
P.S. Thank you Baz for letting us share your holiday with you.

No problem Jay.

I have sorted out the leaky bit which happened at Calais. Turned out to be a split hose from thermostat to water pump!!
