I've been trying to find out what is the Cd value for 95-98 Scorpio sedan - without any success.

Happily noticed that the Autocar's article in this site has the values, but sadly, for Scorpio the upper left corner of the page is too blurred...

Does anyone know it? I'd say that it is somewhere between 0,32 and 0,34.

It's a good question. I didn't even know what you were talking about until I found the definition: Cd value:
a number representing the coefficient of drag which is the amount of resistance that a moving vehicle makes in a wind tunnel.

Are you thinking of attaching wings, Otto?  Smiley

I'm sure someone will have the original Autocar issue and will be able to tell us..... anyone?

I'm sorry for not being clear enough!

Nope, I'm not in need of wings and neither is the carSmiley

I'm interested to know the value in order to be able to calculate the force generated by air resistance at certain speeds. And that is because I was surprised how much fuel consumption rises when driving faster. That is natural, of course, as if speed is doubled, air resistance will be four times higher. But still...

It's rising much faster than in my Sierra. Scorp is heavier, but that shouldn't have that much effect when driving on highway with not that much uphills to tackle with. And further on, Sierra has only four gears.

Average consumption for past six months is 9,5 l / 100km for Scorp and 8,6 for Sierra. So Scorp is doing very well considering the difference in weights, 1060kg vs 1500kg.

So the conclusion is that I'm just curious Wink
