The latest Mods!!

Decided to upgrade the incar entertainment system in my Scorpio after the DVD failed on the way to Euro Disney in December. (Thankfully the video still worked so little Connor was happy!!) I managed to get hold of a system from a galaxy which included headrest screens, dvd player and control box along with headphones, remotes and most of the wiring. The Galaxy system allows two rear seat passengers to watch 2 seperate sources of video or for 1 to play a playstation game even! I aquired the missing bits from the local dealer and proceeded to rip the galaxy headrests apart to fit the screens into a spare pair of Scorpio ones I had. The Scorpio headrest is dismantled to leave just the casing After all of the foam and material is ripped off the galaxy ones, this is what is left! Stuff it inside the scorpio headrest and cut a hole in the back. Then the foam is removed from under the leather and the leather is superglued into place around the face of the screen holder View from the side Matching pair Close up. This weekend if fitting the wiring in time....watch this space!!

Thanks Barry, Happy New Year to you and yours Years since I went to the pictures. Fast and furious start to the year and the only chance to get on the site seems to be after midnight. Of to Scotland next week, Aberdeen and then Edinburgh. Thinking about a guess the mileage competition at Harewood, (nice bottle of malt for the lucky winner) with proceeds to Yorkshire Air Ambulance

Bleeping nicely they are! Noticed that you are starting to build up a supply of HBCs at the Warrington Parts Distribution Centre. If you get any that you know are shot, can you put them on one side and I want to see if it may be possible to do something with work on the heat sink, other thing is I would like to open one up to see the innards. What do you think we might find, a handful of resistors?

mike... i was going to mention the exact same thing, could of saved a bit of labour, mine are still working a treat,BUT do agree that the "proper" scorpio ones are a lot more comfortable, and do look the part...... (do enjoy driving at night with the screens working in the back though, not only do they give off a subtle glow, but always get the looks )....... now i know what your doing this weekend baz, that will explain your lack of time of in replying to that mesage about the roof/window deflectors..

OK, First take a perfectly good centre console and cut a rectangle out of the back with a jigsaw! Remove the waste plastic: Fill with "entertainment system" control panel from Galaxy: Then cut a perfectly good hole in the top of you leather drivers seat.... Remove the excess foam and superglue socket adapter in place.... Shove long piece of stiff wire down through the seat (I have an old CB whip ariel for this purpose, works a treat. Pull headrest wiring loom through the hole and snap socket into place in the adapter installed earlier The headrest can now be installed with tyhe plug into the socket and the rubber cover stretched over the oval collar. The headrest can also be removed if the seats need to be fully reclined and there are two blanking covers to go over the sockets in the seats. Repeat for passenger side and watch out for those side airbags!!

Verry nice work Baz I'm also modding my electronics a bit. I want to install a desktop computer in my trunk so it will run OBD, mp3, DVD, GPS, and various other software/devices.
