hi all

well ive seen a lovely 1998 2.3 estate on ebay not to far from me it's in great condition apart from a blown head gasket. i will hopefully (fingers crossed)be the only bidder on it and collect next week end if all goes well

i do not plan to break it up, just repair the damage and get her back on the road Cheesy Cheesy (im still after bobtheyobs's cossie too Grin Grin)

any advice on stripping the engine down and advice on what may have blown the gasket is most welcome

wish me look

Matt

Hey

ive got all the 2.3 stuff downloaded on me pc and ive lost count of the times ive been through them  Tongue

thankfully i won the bid and should (if all does well) pick her up this sat. then she'll go into hiding in my garage while it's being worked on (i'll take some pics at the diffrent stages)

any trouble area with these cars? like bolts that snap off or springs that fly off as soon as you look at them?

hey all

well i picked the car up to day, and she's a beauty, rear bumpers cracked but otherwise it's in very good nick, it's got just over 114000 miles on the clock and starts first time (runs  smooth for aswell but not for very long when it starts heating up) ive got almost all the bits now for a full engine strip down and rebuild

seeing the quality of this kit, ive very tempted to get one for my cossie, i plan to do some rather extensive work on it so a head gasket change may aswell go on the list
