I don't think anything has taken on the Cosworth engine since which explains why parts are difficult to source at times. The 2.3 went into the Galaxy. Not sure about the V6 block itself. Possibly into some Mondeos, but the V6 is not a economical beasty so is not friendly with your average punter

Quote:
SOHC

A somewhat-related SOHC version was introduced for the 1997 Explorer alongside the pushrod. The SOHC version is the last Cologne engine still in production, though it will be phased out starting in 2007 in favor of the new Cyclone. It featured a variable length intake manifold and was good for 210 hp and 245 ft.lb. Ford Power Products sells this engine as the SOHC-640.

A version of the SOHC engine as used in the Land Rover LR3 and is good for 216 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque at 3000 rpm.

Applications:
Ford Ranger/Mazda B-Series
Ford Explorer
Ford Aerostar
2005-2007 Ford Mustang
2005- Land Rover LR3

Other Cars using the Cologne V6
Ford Aerostar
Ford Capri
Ford Consul
Ford Granada
Ford Sierra
Ford Scorpio
Merkur Scorpio
Ford Transit

I think you'll find that the Consul & MK1 Granada used the V6 Essex engine. The V6 Cologne engine was first used in the MK2 Granada Cheesy

Yes, the Sierra was fitted with the 2.3, 2.8 and then the 2.9 Cologne engines.  The previous shape Granada got the 2.8 then the 2.4 and 2.9
