Have you had to get rid of your pride and joy? Having panic attacks, nausea or other withdrawal symptoms? Then do not fret! The ex-scorpio help group has been formed to aid your transition back to the world of mundane, backbreaking driving.
My name is Baw and I owned a Scorpio. After she went, I had feelings of inadequacy, emptiness and a deep seated unhappiness that led to depression. I realised that there must be many more people like me that must struggle to carry on after the passing of a loved one and were not getting any support. Here we can discuss anything about our loss that we want and attempt to heal the wounds. We welcome anyone with long ranging experience to discuss how they coped and pass on any tips that may ease the pain of others.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Lee, I understand what you are going through having owned a 2nd scorpio for only 3 weeks before sending it to the scrap yard in the sky, my attachment to it became unbearable for my wife to cope with.

My consolation was the parts I kept and cherish along with my first love (and my wife). All I can say is keep something to remind you of it - especially during these long hot night when you may crave for those soft cool curves, the comfort of a well warn seat and the forgiving temperament of a godess.

You are not alone Smiley

Well I do have a set of back seats, perhaps I could turn it into a sofa Smiley I dont think a manky old drivebelt tensioner or a seat motor would have the same sentimental value Grin

Although being a Scorpio owner at the moment, I did have an eighteen month sabbatical between my old one & this one (I was Mondeo man for this period) Roll Eyes
I sold my old 2.0 Ghia at Chelmsford car auctions & it was a difficult thing to walk away & leave her in the car park surrounded by various inferior cars.
While waiting for a taxi to pick me I couldn't stop looking through the bars at her. she looked so unhappy, like a lost puppy. I felt a lump in my throat & a tear in my eye. When the taxi finally arrived I took one last look at her & I'm sure she flashed her headlights at me one last time Cry Cry
I'm still reminded of of her every now & then....especially when I receive the odd photo from the Metropolitan police after she's been caught speeding at various camera sights in North London. Obviously the new owner has not registered it & I'm the last known owner (they do try it on, the Met).
At least I know she's still out there somewhere gracing the highways & not being slowly crushed by two Fiestas in a scrap yard Smiley
I hope this little story isn't too sad for the Ex-Scorpio owners group. Grin

Easier said than done when pushers and dealers are offering it to you where ever you look! I still have one but I can control my use of it - for now, but what happens when they are no longer available or taxed out of reach? Embarassed

Maybe a patch will be available Smiley

A couple of Scorpio related images.

First one is for Cosworth owners without LPG!

Second is just for Scorpio owners in general!

Don’t worry Geoff.... We will be here when you fall Smiley..........
Johnny, you have my warmest thanks for that heart-rendering story. I'm sure this will resonate with many patrons.... Cry Cry Cry

Baz, you are simply not helping. Folk are meant to feel guilty about loosing there’s, not by having one! I think you need help outside of the group, preferably by someone with some letters in front of their name...Grin

All I ever got from my ex ford mechanic when I called him (bi-weekly basis) was - 'Oh what now? why dont you get youreself one of them wee Honda things, that Scorpio aint gonna stop breaking you know!' But hey, there was nothing like picking your in-laws at the airport in the Scorp for the first time and having them giving me the 'Oh, nice car, you must be doing OK then!?' Grin

If you were to break it, then you may feel a little better knowing that its parts will help save the lives of many other Scorpios Grin
