Loved the way the scorp scooped up the granny. Always thought that only happened in American films using ramps

More meaningless destruction of two half decent motors. And to prove what exactly? All it says to me is, don't drive too close to the car infront. the driver of the scorp was too close for the benefit of making a couple of minutes of tv. Just my humble opinion

Sorry fellas, waste of two good cars if you ask me. People know the danger of tailgating but some peeps can never be told, given all the driver training in the world they'd still take stupid chances. Mabye I should lighten up Bruce.

Waste of a decent car. Tailgaters are just thick, stupid, arrogant and aggressive drivers. Not much more to say really.

Agreed Shame they had to use those cars. They could just have told us what would happen if 1 car with better tyres braked hard in front of another car on a wet road

maybe the poduction teams thinking with these big cars was less chance of a serious accident ...did the air bag go off? makes me feel a bit safer anyway knowing if i was stupid enough to be driving the same this might happen just think if the scorpio was a small car slamming into the granada

The Jag had all the original handbooks, one telling you how it got the award of the safest production car in Europe, lots of specs and test photos etc. Not sure about the XJ40, was lighter in build than the SIII... I'd imagine the Scorp and Granny come pretty high too, had a good chance to test my brakes last night (another story ), the burke in the Rover behind had to skid to avoid my six...

As far as I know, the Scorp was designed just to completely crumple at the front to absorb the shock. Which is why, with even a minor prang, the whole front end just disintigrates = write off but less chance of injury. In the clip, they dont show you the font outright but you can just make out there was massive damage (poor wee beastie ).
