Yep, Dogs are smelly, demanding and far too high maintanance . Cats are the discerning people's choice. ( BTW , I'd like to catch the brainless thing who put the kitten on the cactus plant and stick sharp needles into their feet )

Turkish Van Cat. Top breed....if you want a fun, loving cat get one of these. We've got four, love em to bits. (Nimbus, Cirrus, Cumulus and Stratus) Libby wouldn't let me name them after aeroplanes.............. DH dove PS Swimming cat is a Turkish Van but the rarer (in the UK) all white variety, no auburn markings on ears, back and distinctive auburn tail. I'll just go and hang my anorak up.....................................

Cats here alright, had 2 until a few months ago. Had Timmy first, came to us as a rescue cat just before Christmas 1996, were told that if we didn't take him he'd be put to sleep as nobody wanted him. Had him until April this year when one morning he came in crying, took him to the vet who thought he'd been poisioned. Within 2 1/2 weeks we lost him to stomach cancer; spent over a grand getting him treated but in the end had to let him go, the hardest moment for any pet owner... Last photo we have of him, used to spend most of his time on the window ledge above the radiator looking out on his kingdom . I miss that old cat a great deal now. And then there's Puffin (or Joker, Puffball, Catnap, whatever he gets nick-named). Had him since July 1997, one of those pets who chooses the owner... Much healthier cat than old Tim, both times he's cost a bomb at the vet is when he's swallowed grass seeds or got one stuck in his paw. Right little joker, back chats when he gets chucked off seats and always runs for his life whenever a Dove lands in the garden... Would love another dog though, perhaps one day Regards, Bruce .

always runs for his life whenever a Dove lands in the garden... Wow Tiberius, not surprised he gets scared you must have one hell of a garden if a Dove can land in it, ours needs about 500 yards!!! Taliban, yes thousands of piccies but will have to do some homework before I could post one onto the site............(PC illiterate) DH Dove

My bad, meant a (grey?) dove, ferral pigeon, sky rat . Got a decent bit of ground around our place but nowhere near enough to land my private plane unfortunately... Yes, the sight of a pigeon puts the fear of God into him, not much of a mouser either; too well fed I fear. Tim was more wild and would catch anything, never nice to see the result of a killing spree but it's a good cat's nature and I never saw a mouse or rat in all the years we had him. For uploading photos, go to photobucket.com and register, just upload your photos there for free then copy and paste the IMG tag beneath the picture onto your post over here, will look something like: {IMG}www.photobucket.com/Tiberius/image1.jpg{/IMG} But show up as a photo onscreen once you've posted. Hope this helps. Regards, Bruce.

| lol Cheaper to run than a domestic tabby no doubt Just had a rerun of the classic 'grass wedged behind the soft palate' episode. £280 emergency trip to the vet on sunday afternoon, congested breathing, coughing, sneezing and not eating, feared the worst for the little fella... 2 hours later, gets a call from the vet; cat sedated, blade of grass retrieved from behind the windpipe. Now we have a groggy tabby and are another £300 poorer for our troubles...next time he gets sold on eBay Bruce.
