Scorpio 2,5 TD VM engine numbers

The 2,5 Scorpio TD has engines from the Italian producer VM. There are different engines used different years and I think the VM engine with numbers such as VM25Bxxxxx were used the first year, 43B 1998 etc.
Which year was the 25B used and is it fully "manual" i.e. does it have a CPU (MAF?) to manage the engine?
Does anyone of you out there have a list of different engines different years, with numbers and information of CPU's? I am new on this forum and have searched it in vain for the information I'd like to have.
Another question; does any of you have any special tools for those engines for sale??

No idea what the engine numbers are but the following may help identify it if it's installed in the car or has it's ancillaries still fitted.
a) The engine was revised from about 96 onwards
b) The newer engine uses full electronic control of the injection pump, therefore there is no throttle cable
c) The vacuum pump on the alternator moves from the rear to the front on the new engine and the mounting bracket has been changed to allow this.
d) There are two electronic vacuum regulators behind the headlamp if the new engine is fitted - the old engine only had one.
c) The ECU for the new engine has >100 pins, compared to around 50 on the original.

from 95 to 96 the engine was 115bhp with manual box and no MAF.
from 96 on the engine was 125bhp with MAF, fly by wire etc. in the last year of production an auto box was offered for the diesel, but these are quite rare to find.
