This would not happen in the UK

Just got off the phone from my Grandmother who now lives in Spain. A while back her partner and herself ordered a plasma tv from a local large department store. Now this was not your £800 tv that we often see in commet or curries but a £2500 all singing all dancing set up. To cut a long storey short three delivery dates had now been and gone with no tv. As any self respecting person would do my granny whent to the store and politely asked what was going on. The assistant said in her best broken english that the manager would like to discuss the matter. Now this was not the department manager but the manager of the whole store. For those of you who may know the store is court englaise, its basicaly on a par with Harrods but in spain. So this guy came out to my grandmother and made some sincere appologies and gave his word that the tv would be delivered in two days even if he had to do it himself. Sound resonable, BUT. He then put his hand in his pocket and counted out 1000 euros and gave it to my grandmother And guess what, the next day he was there with a technition setting up the tv.

What's their address.... I need a new TV!! on a side note, I am moving house soon (finally got the big garden and double garage I wanted at number 72... we live at 29 so not too far to go!!) I have a supplier who leases plasma TV's to shops and pubs etc. and he is doing me a lease deal on a new TV for the lounge whereby it works out cheaper to rent the screen for 3 years than to buy one at todays prices!! These are Panasonics and the like; so good stuff. Then at the end of the 3 years, I keep the tv and get another one off him. I cxan then flog the other one on EBay and get some money back that way!!... win-win I think....unless of course you know different!

Too right it wouldn't happen here. Much more likely you get a spotty 17 year old (in an unironed shirt) reciting a prepared load of babble and finishing up with the immortal words "I am sorry you haven't had a pleasant retail experience today sir" When you push these morons further you will soon find they haven't been programmed to answer anything intelligently and they just repeat time and time again until you give up in despair. What else can we expect today in this Blairite utopia. Bren

PC World is the best 'experience' in the UK. They have about as much technical knowledge of PC's as your average corpse. Easy way to bring them down to size is to go in and ask them if they have any Left handed PC Monitors or a cordless printer
