Dollar against the pound, rude not to cash in

Been toying with this for a while and thought what the hell, $2 to the £, bargain.
I have been thinking of upping the ante on the Jag and have taken the plunge.

1st- Mina Galery Exhaust in Stainless, get the car sounding like a true V8 supercar and an extra 25-30BHP

2nd-Performance Heat Shield Intake System, getting rid of the standard filter and box and an extra 20-25BHP

3rd- Single billet smaller supercharger pulley, extra 1.5lbs of boost into the engine with a gain of again 25-30bhp.

All three together should get me up to the BHP figure I was after...a nice 450-470ish.

Dont know what will happen to the 0-60 until its all on but we should shave a quarter of a second off so it should be sub 5 seconds.

Hope to have it all fitted by Harewood so looks like I am taking the jag after all.

Boy racers of the world beware....................................

Nic, I envy you...wish I had that sort of money to throw at the Sport at the mo, the Jag is a lovely car...the 250 horses are burning a hole in my pocket already, not sure if my driving license could take 400 Grin..

It's the quickest motor I've owned by far, I've been told it's enough power for the moment Roll Eyes

Martin, the XJR has two fuel pumps...or at least the XJR6 does...as does the V12 which also has two fuel pressure regulators, 2 thermostats, 2 air filters...

Gotta love that over engineering Roll Eyes.

Regards, Bruce Wink.

I ordered some parts from JaguarXp last months and they came yesterday, and missed those nice men ap HMC&E, bonus.

Fitted a new back exhaust system in stainless made my Mina, induction filter and housing and a smaller SC pulley and wow, thats all I can say WOW, never been so quick to three figures and never been so quick to the limiter, just after I changed into top gear. Dont know what would happen if the limiter was removed.BTW the limiter cuts in at 155mph........................................ Shocked
Also I managed to replace the bumper moints and line it up straight and rattle free for the 1st time ever.

Both tailpipe boxes were rotten as it happens so that was an added bonus.

Waiting to be fitted

Fitted, you can see the bumper mounts as well, doddle to fit.

Discreet and sounds nice

Bye Bye filter assembly

New filter fitted and oiled up

There is a smaller pulley under there somewhere

Now I just have to replace the back tyres, b****r

Cheers to Simon for giving a hand and his missus for feeding me

well if you look at the other cars in the jags class, such as mercs and bmw's and with the power figures you have now, they can easily hit the 180 - 190 mph marks with out the limiter.... just remember to uprate the tyres  Wink Cheesy

Nice one. The only thing I'm not sure about are the tailpipes, I kinda like the nice rounded oval shape...

I'm lusting after a blower next time, torn between that and another 12 legger...but I've got to make the Sport last another year or two. Been toying with the idea of a Super V8,  I know about a lot of the problems they suffer and prices for the Daimler Super 8 and XJR have crashed over the past couple of years, if I have the money later in the year, I'm really tempted. The only thing that puts the fear of god into me are the Merc trans and Nikasil...seems every week someone comes onto the forums with a blown V8 with no compression or a dead MB autobox, not that many genuine fixed cars like you've got out there Undecided

But the AJ16 is so simple to work on and I've done so much to mine so far, it's still got a few issues but I couldn't find another car that age in that condition easily  Cry
