Hi all, ever since I can remember I wanted to be a Police man but due to health problems I wasnt able to. So I went for the Police community support officers job and Im due out on my first day tomorow after 2 months training. I belive they do a good job and the many I have seen seem to do most of the police work and have really made an impact with the community. I would like to ask what you guys and girls think of PCSO's so I know what sort of welcome ill get on the streets. many thanks jim

Well done, and hope that you have a good first day out. A lot of people knock the police these days, but that's only because rhe police have had their hands tied by a spineless succession of useless governments of all parties who have made the politically correct world a sad reality for us all. Nowadays, it's all about meeting targets rather than good old fashioned 'collars felt'. One thing's for sure. When the pooh hits the fan, they will be the first people you'll pick up your phone to call. Now whether they will come or not...............

Wow really put a smile on my face lol, I know what you guys mean tho about not turning up or turning up days after. I was training for the last month at a very busy station, there were 2-3 pcso's on duty and up to 4 police officers at any one time. Every day we would go in for a shift briefing and every day the pc's were told they had to deal with prisoners thus taking them off the streets, usually for a whole shift. Why- because the government will no longer pay for the people that use to process them, so now the Pc's have too, totally rediculas, still thats our government for you. Many thanks for your replys guys, nice to konw people still like the police lol many thanks jim

Good on you Jim, I agree with Spanners all the way . The police get a hard time nowadays but it can't be easy with all the red tape Best of luck tomorrow Regards, Bruce.

Yep I am with Spanners on this. Good on yer Jim and if we ever meet the first round is on me. Can anyone remember when, if you were getting out of hand or being naughty as a youngster the local bobby would clip yer lug, and then drag you home where that lug would get another belt from your mother or father. What would happen now if a copper raised a hand to a youngster? The world today is no more than a zoo!

I agree with you cossie-al Although I don't think the world is like a zoo.... why?... well in a zoo all the animals are under control.... PCSO'S play a brilliant roll, they tend to be more enthusiastic within the roll, In my job I also meet with them occasionally, they are always willing to listen and are ready to help out whenever they can. Last year I filmed some yougn lads getting up to no ggd in front of where I live, I furnished thpolice with footage on a cd and forgot all about it. About 6 months later a PCSO knocked on my door to return the cd, he told me that because of this evidence some of the yougnsters had recieved warnings, 2 had been issued with ASBO's after appearing in court. They had not been able to deny their wrongdoings. Te PCSO was very greatfull and so enthusiastic.... it renews your faith... to a degree. Keep up the good work chaps.... and thanks for your efforts Pete
