Birthdays, don't you just love em

Well in a few minutes I will be another year older Undecided
That in its self I can handle but, my good lady has been in hospital since 5am last monday with severe abdiminal pain and there is still no proper diagnosis, despite an ultrasound scan and a laproscopic investigation.
Its not just a tummy upset its the kind of pain that morphine injections are prescribed for.
Various registrars and cosultants have examined Janette and gynaecological consultants say its a surgical problem and surgical consultants say its a gynae problem.
Never have I bit my lip so much as I have in the last weak. These so caled professionals realy do wind me up the wrong way.
So back to my birthday, My son is out on the hoy and may get home around tea time tomorrow.
But I am looking forward to my 4 year old daughter getting up and singing happy birthday to me. Smiley

Just incase you were wondering yes I have had a skin full, and yes I am fealing sorry for myself Undecided

Hope she gets better soon, got a future brother in law with a similar thing, severe abdominal pain which lands him in hospital for a week at a time on morphine but no diagnosis.

He's been in three times in four weeks, once he recovers they ship him home till the next time.
It wasnt till the last time my sister started getting a bit stroppy and demanding a diagnosis that things started moving, he's now had a barium meal, various scans and going to see some experts to get it sorted.

Still she wont be too keen to come home to an old git anyway Wink

Al, I'm not going to give you any bull about everything will be alright and that, because you'll still worry about things regardless of what people say. But, you've gotta hang in there mate, things aren't always as bad as they seem and you always get through in the end.

Sometimes Birthdays are a day you'd rather forget, believe me I know (for other reasons I wouldn't burden you with) but there's always a tomorrow.

Guys, what can I say but a sincere thanks to you all.
I woke up this morning to the harmonious rendition of happy birthday sang by my four year old daughter.
Got to admit there was a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.
About 11am I got a phone call from janette saying she could come home once the discharge papers were in order and the drugs had arrived from pharmacy.
Apparently janettes gp can take over the care from here Huh
To sum up we still have no proper diagnosis so what the gp will do is beyond me.
Highlander, I take note of what you say about your future brother in law and just hope we can avoid similar circumstances.
So after all as far as birthdays go getting my good lady home is more than I could ever have wished for.
Fingers crossed her pain etc subsides.

Al, don't fret mate. We had a similar thing last year, 3am, rolling about in pain, food poisoning like symptoms, cramps, sickness etc. Happened several times over a few months for no reason, lost a lot of sleep worrying over her.

GP couldn't find anything wrong, in the end it cleared up by itself, everything's fine now thank God.

Like I say, there's always a tomorrow.

Glad it's all OK Al. Good health is the greatest gift in the world. Best wishes to your good lady.

My wife has seen me through some very difficult times, illnesses, and problems and I love her SO much for it, I can tell you.

Try not to worry buddy. Worry is destructive. Hope it all turns out with a happy ending.

You're a LOT younger than ME anyway!!    Grin

Yes,   like  good old Des Lynam  I've given up reading Tuesdays Daily Mail,   as its  Medical Section  delights  in telling us about all  the myriad  medical problems we have thus avoided so far,   but still have  every chance of catching. Undecided

Good to hear  of  a good outcome  to  Al's  worries.

Spare a thought for all us  live alone single  uns  with no kids or spouses  to  look after us  or cuddle  us  should  we  feel under the weather  ( sound of mawkish violins  please ).
