Had a trip down that way a few years ago now - among the places we visited were Lanhydrock - an old country house owned by the National Trust I think and the Poldark tin mine which was interesting.
It's a nice drive down to the Lizard point too.

If you have children and are interested in steam trains etc take them to "DOBWALLS" it's a theme park based around small sized trains which you ride on to go to the various other attractions.... Our bairns loved it...
Also, there are some nice views up on Bodmin Moor, Colliford lake ets, lots of buzzards (But you don't have to buy anything.... Grin...).
In all you don't have to go far to find interesting places in Cornwall, they jump out at you.... and I certainly agree about Poldark mines... Brilliant days out...

Enjoy yourselves... Cheesy

Hi John,
usually aroung 28mpg for the 300miles to Penzance, av speed around 60 for the trip (via M25,M3, A303,A30).

Watch out for some bottlenecks on the 303, esp approaching Stonehenge when 3 lanes go down to 1 and other things (tractors, caravans, Rover drivers  Wink )
unless you leave really early - say 4am.

Cheers

Paul
