After many many hours not to mention miles searching the country I finaly found what I consider to be a car worthy of scorp replacement. The only down side is its french But it does have just about every toy available, all the usual including dynamic stability control, built in sat nav and phone. Fully electric seats (even the head rests) electric rear sun blind, auto folding mirrors.etc etc. Oh and its a 3.0 24v V6. It is the best cared for car I have ever come across and it still has a peugeot warrenty And the price? lets just say it was less than £5000 [/img] [img][/img]

...or Puggie_Al Seriously though, the interior looks pucker You can always trust a French car.....it doesn't have a mind of it's own .... ....& watch the steering, it tends to turn to the other side every now & then ..... ...& finally, if the interior has a faint aroma of onion & garlic, then don't worry....it's that new car smell ....

Another thing about the car is it seams to think its a french politician. Last night a boy racer came past me making the usual noise etc so I selected sport mode and prepared to go into battle when the car deselected sport mode and backed off completely.

Nice looking interior, very plush. On the subject of French luxury cars, be warned about the Citroen C5 - mate of mine at work bought a high-miler, 3 years old for about 3k - very comfy and lots of toys...then one of the headlights packed up - sealed HID unit I think it was - new one was around the £500 mark - Ouch ! Then the other one blew a few weeks later...so he traded it in very swiftly...

If you pass a broken down 406 on your travels, then don't be too alarmed if the new 607 breaks down soon after... ....it may just be refusing to work out of sympathy

Sorry about all the naff French jokes Al, no offence intended It really is nice looking car though. I've been looking at a few for sale on Auto Trader & it doesn't look like your average boring 4 door saloon. It's a bit different & has that "je ne sais pas" about it I like it, & when the Scorp has done it's time as a taxi & a replacement is needed, then I am deffinately considering the 607, 2.2 diesel version P.S....don't suppose you could post a piccie of the rear seat as well...just to get an idea of the legroom compared to the Scorp

Jonny, No offence taken over the jokes mate As for the back seat there is loads of room even with both front seats all the way back. I am 5'10 and there is about 3-4 inches between my kneas and the front seats. hope that helps

Personally i cant stand anything French-wont even buy their apples! However this does seem to be quite nice. Its a shame they all suffer with poor electrics and i wonder how long it will be before your first electrical failure. Keep us posted and happy motoring. john.n

I agree john, I was also sceptical about the electrics, and this car has more than its fair share. Everything from the rear blind to the suspension is controled electronicaly. However the car does still have a lengthy waranty that acording to the book does cover most electrical faults. I will be renewing it when it expires.
