Actually, I still have your old controller with the smashed socket, I soldered the pins & it’s been on test on my car for a few weeks (forgotten it was still on the car to be honest). The person I was going to send it to got hold of another one – so you could always use that. Assuming you’ve had rain, could be a problem with a wheel sensor plug. Did you seal the hole in your controller? Could be damp in that I suppose, but as scorpio_man implies best ignored for now .

Had my ABS light come on today, first time in about 3 months. Usually it only stays on for about 45 mins & then goes off if you restart the car after this time, then behaves itself again But today it's come on & stayed on ....last time it did this was because the rear N/S sensor was caked in mud & slivers of metal. Once cleaned up it behaved itself again Hopefully this will be the reason when I look at it tomorrrow

As Tompion is aware I had to replace my controller last week. I did so and the b..... y light still came on . Well fed up, drove five miles to the pub, light was on. Left pub, drove home, light was off and has not re-appeared to date. The old unit is on its way to Tompion as we are convinced that it is the 'Two Pins' problem that Dave identified with these units some while ago and which Gost refers to. HERE Dave scanned mine at the last meet and the fault code indicated the ABS pump not running. However with a direct 12v supply the pump ran perfectly hence the view that the pins are loose on the board. My light would come on and go out on start up, as it should, but then come on once the car was doing 5-10mph presumably this is the point at which the pump should be available if required? so if the power is not getting to it the warning light appears.

One other point is that IF the car has traction control the unit is much larger having more hydraulic connections and thus more internal 'motors' than those without. My 2.0ltr,which does not have TC, is different to Scorpio Mikes' 2.3 , which does, although at first glance the set up looks the same with both cars having the controller under the motor.
