Hi There! Would it be best to take the equipment back to the shop? Surely the modem is a device that will connect you exclusively to 3 and would be in their best interest to keep you connected and happy?

Mobile based modems are notoriously rubbish - unless they have a crystal clear signal, they return rubbish rates or even just keep disconnecting every few minutes. Worth checking with the provider about signal strenght in you area
