I always use 5W30 Castrol Magnatec, as recommended by Ford, and do more frequently than recommended (4-5000 miles). I always use a Ford filter - EFL298
 
But you'll get loads of different answers - plenty of good oils about - just down to choice and/or price.

I agree that 5w30 Magnatec is the best oil by far.
 
I have always, with modern cars, drained the old sludge out and popped fresh Magnatec in within the first week of ownership.  Wink

okay thanks  for the advice  
  thats what  i plan to do  i got  the diff problem fixed today   and she is running fine  first time i have driven her since getting her  bought her with a knacked diff
i managed to source a diff  and it was fitted today  
 
 what do i use to flush the engine  
 
i am planning on  new plugs oil and filter  and air filter  
and check my brake pads  for ware  also flush the cooling  system and put in new anti freeze  i used green in my desiel can i use the green in the   24v  she has done  just short of 56,000 miles

Just a point on that. Do you know that the rear pistons have to be wound back ?. They cannot be pushed like the fronts.  Smiley

ive always used 0w40 in my cossie, use a good flushing oil first and always fit a new filter (fluch it before you fit the new filter  Roll Eyes)

yes  i know that  simmo  i also have  2.5 TDI SCORPIO ESTATE THAT I DID THE DISCS AND PADS ALL ROUND NOT SO LONG AGO
